QPR’S U21 Development Team beat Cardiff City 4-1 on Monday night at the Cardiff City Stadium, with Rob Hulse on target twice.
Taylor Parmenter and Mo Sharif also scored in a convincing win for Rangers after they had gone behind to an early goal.
Aaron Lennox started between the sticks for QPR, while Michael Harriman, Sam Magri, Parmenter and Max Ehmer made up the back four.
Sharif, Freddie Champion, Frankie Sutherland and Bruno Andrade operated across the midfield, with Hulse and Tom Hitchcock in attack.
Cardiff got off to a great start when Dekel Keinan gave them the lead on two minutes with a fine header from a Craig Conway corner.
Rangers refused to let the disappointing opening deter them, however, and gradually worked their way into the match.
Parmenter forced a great save out of Cardiff keeper Elliot Parish before Hulse eventually drew matters level on 33 minutes.
The experienced forward got the better of Keinan before smashing the ball home.
Lennox had to be at the top of his game to deny Jesse Darko from long range before Parmenter put the R’s ahead six minutes before the break.
The powerful defender managed to get his head to another excellent Sutherland set-piece and this time his effort could not be stopped by Parish.
In the closing minutes of the half, the Bluebirds pushed forward in search of an equaliser and were twice thwarted by the brilliance of Lennox, first saving a Craig Conway freekick and then denying Joe Ralls.
After the break, Rangers seemed determined to move up a gear in a bid to increase their lead and they did just that on 51 minutes.
Hitchcock found space down the left and pulled the ball back perfectly for Sharif to fire home.
Stunned by the goal, Cardiff found themselves 4-1 behind two minutes later when the constantly-tormenting Hulse bagged his second of the night.
Andrade, who produced a solid performance, delivered a great cross from the right and Hulse headed home to complete the scoring and seal an impressive win for Rangers.
