QPR’s Elite Development Squad narrowly missed out on a third straight win after a goalless draw with Ipswich Town on Saturday.
The R’s were targeting maximum points after back-to-back successes at Barnet and Millwall but came up short in the final third as Marc Bircham’s side were forced to settle for a share of the spoils.
The R’s boss handed goalkeeper Radek Cerny the gloves while left-back Manny Monthe – on the scoresheet in their previous outing at Millwall – retained his place for the third successive game.
Monthe was joined by fellow Under-18s team-mate Josh Hunt-Laurent, who enjoyed 65 minutes in central midfield.
Saturday’s point takes Rangers into second place, six points behind league leaders Charlton Athletic.
The R's next league outing is on Tuesday 19th March, welcoming Swansea City under the Loftus Road floodlights for a 7pm kick-off.
QPR: Cerny, Magri, Monthe, Sendles-White, Parmenter, Ehmer, Sutherland, Hunt-Laurent (Champion 65), Balanta, Hewitt (Brown 75), Shariff.
