Esteban on disappointing start to the season

FORMER Real Madrid midfielder Esteban Granero admits he and his team-mates are frustrated by QPR’s start to the season.

Saturday’s 3-2 defeat means that Rangers are now winless in their opening seven Barclays Premier League fixtures.

Speaking exclusively to www.qpr.co.uk, Granero said: “We’re not happy [with results so far this season].

“We know we are not where we’re supposed to be with the squad we have.

“We are lucky that it’s only the beginning because we have time to recover – be we have to do so soon."

He added: “We conceded two goals in the first 20 or so minutes (against West Brom). After that, it’s difficult. We have to learn.

“After 20 minutes, I thought we made it a good game. We just couldn’t score more than two goals.

“When you score two goals, you have to win. As a team, we have to improve.”

Despite defeat, Granero was keen to praise R’s fans that travelled to The Hawthorns, saying: “They were fantastic again. They are always there and we have to say thank you to them.

“All we ask is for them to keep pushing, because I’m sure they’ll have a lot of happy days to come this season.”
