R's lose to Brentford at Harlington despite storming into two-goal lead

QPR lost 4-2 to local rivals Brentford at Harlington on Saturday afternoon, despite storming into a two-goal lead.

Defender Taylor Parmenter headed Rangers ahead before Mo Sharif doubled the advantage prior to the break.

The R’s shaded the opening 45 minutes without really getting into their stride but in the second half the Bees took control against an under-performing QPR.

Luke Norris reduced the deficit before Aaron Pierre levelled from a corner.

Former R’s youth product Antonio German put Brentford in front and Jake Reeves wrapped up the victory for the visitors.

After a four-match unbeaten run, which included three wins, QPR’s Under 21s will be disappointed with not only Saturday’s result, but also their level of performance in the second period.

Head Coach of Elite Development Marc Bircham told www.qpr.co.uk: “It was disappointing from us.

“The Brentford players were fitter, hungrier and stronger on the day. This was an important lesson for our lads.”

There is no match this weekend, so Rangers will have to wait until their clash at Ipswich on 21st October to try and put things right.
