QPR are set to learn who they face on the first weekend of the 2014/15 Barclays Premier League season at 9.00am on Wednesday morning - and www.qpr.co.uk has delved back into the history books to look at how QPR have previously fared on the opening day of the season.
MOST MEMORABLE WIN
QPR 2, Liverpool 0 - Division One - Saturday 16th August 1975
Gerry Francis hit the BBC 'Goal of the Season' against Liverpool on the opening day of the 1975/76 campaign - a year that would subsequently go down in the R's history.
R's midfielder Mick Leach was also on target at Loftus Road, in a season where QPR pushed their opening day opponents all the way for the top-flight crown.
Playing an attractive brand of 'total' football, the R's captured the hearts of the nation and were top prior to Liverpool's final fixture of the season - some 10 days after that of Rangers.
Defeat at Norwich City for QPR in their third to last fixture ultimately cost Dave Sexton's men, who saw Liverpool clinch the title with a 3-1 victory at Wolverhampton Wanderers.

LAST TIME IN THE 'BIG TIME'
QPR suffered an opening day to forget – going down to a 5-0 defeat against Swansea City at Loftus Road.
The Swans stunned the R’s side who, despite a positive first-half showing, were made to pay for several missed chances in typical Premier League fashion.
Debutant Michu gave City the lead inside the opening ten minutes.
The Spaniard then added another eight minutes after half-time, before further strikes from Nathan Dyer (2) and Scott Sinclair gave Michael Laudrup a first fixture in charge of the South Wales club to remember.
