Midfielder delighted with return to action ...

ALEJANDRO Faurlin admits it felt ‘great to be back’ in a QPR jersey, but is fully-aware that the hard work is still very much ahead.

The Argentine midfield ace returned to action on Saturday in our 2-2 pre-season friendly draw against FC Augsburg, after six-and-a-half-months on the sidelines with an anterior cruciate ligament injury.

Speaking exclusively to www.qpr.co.uk, Faurlin expressed his delight at returning to action, commenting: “It felt great to be back.

“It's been a really tough six and a half months for me. It's been a long time, with a lot of hard work.

“The support I've had from my family; my wife; my team-mates; everyone at the club – it has been amazing and it means so much to be back playing.

“I feel like I've come back to life!”

Faurlin played the final 15 minutes against the Bundesliga side and left the field embracing head physio, Nigel Cox, whom he has worked so closely with over the last few months.

“I felt relaxed out there,” he said.

“It was only 15 minutes but it meant the world to me. It gives me something to build on now and I can't wait for the season to start.

“I still need some more minutes over the next few weeks. I need to play some more football and then hopefully I'll be ready.”
