ESTEBAN Granero has called on his team-mates to give the QPR fans what they deserve this weekend – three priceless Premier League points against Southampton.
Rangers go into Saturday’s game occupying bottom spot in the table with the Saints one place – and one point – higher.
“We know this is going to be massive for us,” said Granero, who joined the R’s from Real Madrid in the summer.
“We play at home against one of our rivals. We know the supporters are with us and they deserve more than we are giving to them.
“All we can do is continue training hard and give everything on the pitch on Saturday.”
The R’s go in search of their first Premier League win of the campaign, and the former Real Madrid starlet says that maiden triumph will have a huge impact on the club.
“I believe the first win will change everything,” he added. “We are doing the correct things and that is why I think it’s going to be better for us very soon.”
It has been a disappointing start to the campaign but Granero remains convinced the good times are just around the corner.
“The beginning has been a little bit tough but I am sure it is going to get better soon,” he added.
“I am here to face this challenge. If people think I am not happy that I am here because we have not won yet, then they are wrong. We must work to get away from this situation and we are working hard for this. I am sure we will do it.
“Am I happy here? Yes, more than ever. I came here for a challenge and this is what I have.
“I wanted to face a big challenge with this club. It is a club with a lot of ambition and it wants to grow. I want to grow with it. Together we can move forward at the same time.
“I know the future is going to be good. Of course words mean nothing in football but I will say that we are training very hard for Saturday’s game and we are ready.”
