Disappointment for Mackie and a waiting game for Nelsen ...
Jamie Mackie and Ryan Nelsen are currently on international duty with Scotland and New Zealand respectively, but it was a mixed weekend of results for the QPR pair.
Mackie came on as an 84th-minute substitute in Scotland’s 2-1 defeat to Wales in their World Cup qualifier at the Cardiff City Stadium.
Gareth Bale scored both goals for Wales after James Morrison had given the visitors the lead.
Meanwhile, Nelsen was unable to feature in New Zealand’s 2-0 win against Tahiti on Friday in Papeete owing to a knee injury. Shane Smeltz and Ben Sigmund netted for the All Whites.
Next up for Scotland and Mackie is a trip to Brussels on Tuesday evening to take on Belgium while Nelsen is expected to start for New Zealand when they host Tahiti in Christchurch on the same night.
