QPR CEO Philip Beard discusses the release of the 2014/15 Barclays Premier League fixtures …

RANGERS chief executive Philip Beard admits he is delighted that the Hoops have been handed a home start following the release of the new-season fixtures.

Hull City will travel to Loftus Road on Saturday 16th August for what will be our first game back in the Barclays Premier League.

A week later, Harry Redknapp will return to White Hart Lane – the home of former team Tottenham Hotspur.

“It’s just great to be back in the Premier League,” Beard told www.qpr.co.uk.

“When you look at the first few fixtures, it’s Hull at home to start with which is exciting. We also travel to Tottenham for the second game and it will be great for Harry to go back.

“You look at the last four games and we’ve got a tough run-in towards the end of the season.

“But we’ve also got a great Christmas with Arsenal away, and we entertain Crystal Palace and Swansea at home – we won’t have to travel far.

“We’re delighted – especially for the fans who have just been extraordinary for the club.

“It’s going to be a tough season, it’s going to be hard, but whatever happens we’ll give it our all both on and off the pitch to be successful.

“Hopefully it’ll be a fantastic season.”
