Onuoha determined to bounce back at Carrow Road

NEDUM Onuoha is confident the R’s will bounce back from Saturday’s opening day defeat against Swansea City.

Rangers were second best in all departments versus Michael Laudrup’s men, but the R’s defender believes this weekend’s clash against Norwich City presents them with a decent opportunity to respond.

Speaking exclusively to www.qpr.co.uk, Onuoha said: "We made a lot of very basic mistakes on Saturday and good teams punish you.

"Swansea, to their credit, played very well on the day, but we didn't do enough and once you go one or two down and chase the game it becomes very, very difficult to keep your shape and they took full advantage.

"It was the type of defeat that will haunt me for the rest of my career, but I've got every confidence that we will bounce back.

"It was a bad day for us. It was far from acceptable given the standards we set ourselves.”

He added: "Saturday gives us an opportunity to bounce back.

"Norwich stayed up last season and like ourselves, they'll be looking to really kick on this term.

"It should be a good game, but we're under no illusions how tough it will be.

"They'll be smarting like we are after their opening day defeat, so it's a game we know we'll have to be at our best at to get a positive result from.”
