Job Title: Webmaster
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Webmaster to join our ever-expanding communications department at Loftus Road.
Reporting into the Press & Media Manager, we are looking for a well-organised, passionate individual to join a vibrant team that works at the heartbeat of one of the country’s most ambitious football clubs.
About the role
Responsible for the management of the website, applicants should have extensive understanding of CMS systems, with experience of working at a Football Club preferred. The role will require a candidate to: produce news; work alongside the editorial team to generate interesting and innovative content; come up with fresh new feature and project ideas that will drive new users towards the site and retain existing visitors on the website; ensure content in key site areas is relevant, current and accurate; provide project assistance to members of the editorial team as required. The role could also involve assisting with matchday coverage. This will involve working outside of normal business hours.
About the person
The successful candidate would ideally have undertaken formal journalism training at university or higher education level, or have demonstrable experience within a journalism role. A detailed knowledge of QPR (both historical and current) along with a good understanding of social media are desirable. S/he will have a flexible approach to working and will be available to work some out of hours work, including evening and weekend working.
Key requirements:
• An interest in, and understanding of, football
• Excellent social skills
• Excellent English writing skills
• Football writing experience
• Experience using the FLi Content Management System preferred
Job Title: Club Journalist
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Club Journalist to join our ever-expanding communications department at Loftus Road.
Reporting into the Head of Media & Communications, we are looking for a well-organised, passionate individual to join a vibrant team that works at the heartbeat of one of the country’s most ambitious football clubs.
About the role
Focusing specifically on providing support for the club’s website www.qpr.co.uk, as well as our various in-house publications, the role will require a candidate to: produce news (with focus on our new under-21 squad, the academy, QPR ladies / girls and QPR in the Community Trust), ticket, community and picture stories in a fast-paced environment; work alongside the editorial team to generate interesting and innovative content; assist with the squad and club staff interview process - will include off-site interviews with current / former players and club staff; research and maintain statistical information; provide project assistance to members of the editorial team as required. The role could also involve assisting with matchday coverage. This will involve working outside of normal business hours.
