REFEREE Paul Tierney has been appointed by the Football League for Wednesday’s Capital One Cup match against Burton Albion.
The Lancashire born official will take charge of the R’s second round fixture at the Pirelli Stadium.
Tierney’s last QPR outing was in March this year when he sent off defender Richard Dunne in a 3-0 defeat away at Sheffield Wednesday.
He also took charge that season of the R’s 1-0 defeat against Leicester City at Loftus Road when Joey Barton was sent-off for a second bookable offence.
This season he has overseen four matches, issuing 14 yellow cards and two red cards.
Assisting Tierney will be Matt McGrath and Thomas Nield, whilst Gary Sutton is on standby with the fourth official duties.
