MARK Hughes will make a late call on Ji-Sung Park but has a near-fully fit squad to choose from for Saturday’s Barclays Premier League clash at Arsenal.
Park, in the words of the R’s gaffer, ‘Over-extended’ his knee in last weekend’s home draw with Everton and faces a late fitness test at the Emirates Stadium as a result.
Fabio da Silva (hamstring) and Andy Johnson (knee), meanwhile, are definitely out with long-term complaints.
Speaking with www.qpr.co.uk, Hughes said: “We’re okay in that respect (with injuries).
“A number of injuries have cleared up this week. Ji over-extended his knee against Everton and as a consequence hasn’t trained much this week.
“We’ll make a late decision on him.”
Opponents Arsenal go into tomorrow’s fixture reeling from back-to-back defeats to Norwich City and Schalke – and Hughes added: “I’m not sure it’s a good time to be playing Arsenal.
“They’re a very, very good team. They’re at home and we expect them to come out firing in front of their own fans.
“We’ll go there with belief that we can compete with any team in the Premier League. We’ve shown that. We know we can go to the top sides and make a game of it. We’ll try and cause an upset.”
He continued: “We were pleased with our performance, if not the result, against Everton. They’re flying. Julio [Cesar] hardly had a save to make in open play.
“A set-piece hurt us and that’s an area of our play we need to improve on.
“But we played really, really well and would love to get that first win at the weekend.”
