R's youngster scores in Mexico as Under 20s fail to qualify for World Cup ...

CANADA’S hopes of qualifying for the FIFA U-20 World Cup ended on Tuesday night when they lost 4-2 to the United States of America.

The Canucks exited the 2013 CONCACAF U-20 Championship in Puebla, Mexico at the quarter-final stage after defeat to their rivals.

QPR youngster Dylan Carreiro’s long-range strike handed the Canadians an early lead before conceding four unanswered goals to let any hopes of qualifying for Turkey 2013 slip away.

Samuel Piette brought Canada back to within two goals with a fine strike from outside the area but the damage had been done as Canada crashed out of the CONCACAF Championship.

Carreiro and fellow R's midfielder Mike Petrasso, an unused substitute on Tuesday, will both return to W12 shortly to link up with their Under-18s team-mates who currently top the Professional Development League Two (South).
