Park admits Rangers must do better when taking the lead

JI-SUNG Park admits that QPR need to improve on their concentration levels when taking the lead.

Rangers were beaten 3-2 at home by Reading in the League Cup last night (Wednesday) – despite going ahead in the 14th minute through Junior Hoilett.

Mark Hughes’ men also led at Tottenham Hotspur on Sunday before going on to suffer defeat.

Speaking to www.qpr.co.uk, Park said:  “After taking a 2-1 lead [against Reading], we lost concentration and conceded two late goals. We must not repeat this again.

“We scored twice and conceded straight away both times. If we want to win games, we have to be better after scoring goals.

“It’s not an excuse, but I know we can learn from that.”

The R’s return to Premier League action at home to West Ham United on Monday night – and Park added : “It’s a very big game, because we haven’t won a league game. It’s one that we want to get three points from – especially as we’re at home.

“We need to win the game, everyone knows that. Everyone was disappointed by our result against Reading, but we have to recover quickly from that.

“It will be a difficult test. They’re [West Ham] a physical team and play in a similar way to Reading. We have to learn from that and show we did. There can be no excuses.”
