Tjaronn continues fine form against Brentford …

  • Tjaronn Chery looks back on Saturday’s 3-0 win over Brentford
  • Dutchman scored eighth goal of the season against Bees
  • 27-year-old pleased for R’s fans following local derby victory
TJARONN Chery continued his fine form in a QPR shirt with a goal and an assist in Saturday’s 3-0 victory over Brentford – and the Dutchman admits he ‘really enjoyed’ the west London derby atmosphere at Loftus Road.

Rangers ran riot against the Bees, with Chery – enjoying his finest spell of the season so far playing just off lone front-man Sebastian Polter – played a pivotal role for Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink’s side.

He told www.qpr.co.uk: “I thought we played really well from the first minute to the last moments.

“It's always nice to win local derby fixtures and it was something we spoke about before this game.

“The atmosphere was unbelievable – really enjoyable to play in.

“The fans were fantastic and I am really happy for them.

“They deserved this win, like we all did.”

After Junior Hoilett’s sublime individual goal gave Rangers a deserved half-time advantage, two goals in a five minute purple patch midway through the second period put the hosts in cruise control.

First, Chery played provider for Polter to smash home beyond David Button – then the Dutchman capped a fine individual display in a classy team performance with his eight goal of the season.

“I was pleased with the goal – and the assist for Seb,” said Chery.

“I am in the side to score and assist goals, but I know my job is much more than that.

“I am working hard on all parts of my game and I am growing in confidence more and more with the more minutes I play.

“We have won three in a row now at Loftus Road – and we know how important our home form is.

“That's three clean sheets now in a row as well here, and that is important too.”

QPR travel to Preston North End on Saturday and after back-to-back wins last week, Hasselbaink’s side will be looking to make it three on the spin at Deepdale this weekend.

“It’s another important game for us,” said Chery.

“We want to finish this season as strong as possible, so will we go there and look to put on another positive performance and hopefully that will get us the points.”
