The R's pre-season friendly against Shrewsbury Town has been cancelled.

As part of the deal involving a player transfer, Manchester City agreed to officially open their new Stadium and following the appointment of Sven Goran Eriksson last week, the only date they offered to play them play was on Wednesday 1st August.

From an operational point of view it would have been impractical for them to have two matches back-to-back and therefore, the R's scheduled pre-season fixture against the Shrews on Tuesday 31st July, has been cancelled.
