John Gregory was pleased with the impact made by R's goal-den boy Kieron St Aimie against Celtic.

On a day when the Bhoys showed their undoubted European class with a couple of well-taken goals, they were arguably upstaged by St Aimie's sublime solo strike.

"It was a big step-up for Kieron and the rest of the young lads, but they rose to the challenge,'' Gregory told www.qpr.co.uk.

"Kieron is our baby, but he took his goal very well and for the large part did okay.

"He won't be playing against sides as strong and as powerful as Celtic that often - well, for the time being anyway!''

Gregory added: "He's got a lot to offer, but at the same time, he's got so much to learn.

"He's got to prove to the staff, his team-mates and the supporters just what he's capable of, but he's started well and now it's important that he maintains that level of performance, day in, day out, both at the training ground and on matchdays.''
