Bristol City are anticipating their largest opening day home league crowd for 29 years when the R's come to town on Saturday.

A crowd in excess of 16,000 is expected for Saturday's Championship opener against Rangers at Ashton Gate.

The last time City opened a campaign with more than 16,000 fans inside Ashton Gate was back in 1979/80 - against Leeds United in the top flight.

R's defender Danny Cullip is relishing the trip to Bristol, telling www.qpr.co.uk: "The atmosphere should be excellent.
