John Gregory is expected to make changes for the visit of Leyton Orient to Loftus Road in the Carling Cup, first round, on Tuesday night.
The O's make the short trip to W12 buoyed by an opening day League One victory against Southend United at Roots Hall.
Debut duo Sean Thornton and Adam Boyd scored as Orient started the new season with a bang, yet despite revealing he might freshen things up with one eye on the R's maiden home League fixture of the season against Cardiff City on Saturday, Gregory isn't taking the opposition lightly.
"There will probably be changes,'' he told www.qpr.co.uk.
"I've got the luxury of having a much stronger squad now, than I had last season. I'd like more players, but we're well equipped to change it, if needs be.''
Gregory added: "It's about time this Club had a good Cup run, whether it is in the Carling Cup or the FA Cup.
"A decent Cup run can work wonders for the coffers and as a former player, I know how much I enjoyed pitting my wits against sides from other divisions.
"We'll be taking this competition very seriously."
Rangers are hopeful Dexter Blackstock will overcome a slight hamstring problem to retain his place in the R's starting XI, but there will be no room in the squad for Hogan Ephraim, who is unable to play in Cup competitions as part of his loan agreement from West Ham United.
Gareth Ainsworth (ankle), Pat Kanyuka (thigh), Ray Jones (foot), Ben Sahar (appendix) and Simon Walton (fibula) are all out, but Marcus Bignot and Danny Cullip are expected to play some part.
