DOUBLE CALL-UP

Posted on: Thu 30 Aug 2007

Michael Mancienne and Dexter Blackstock have been named in the England Under-21 squad for next month's European qualifiers.

The pair were called up for the first time in their careers at this level when they were named for the friendly against Romania at Bristol City on August 21st, a game that finished 1-1.

Mancienne came on as a second-half substitute for Stuart Pearce's men and will be hoping for more involvement in the next two matches.

Blackstock, meanwhile, was an unused substitute at Ashton Gate and will be looking for his opportunity to make an impact on the pitch this time around.
