BARKER ON BAGGIES

Posted on: Fri 28 Sep 2007

Chris Barker is adamant Rangers' first win of the campaign is just around the corner and he's hoping the Hawthorns will prove to be a happy hunting ground for the R's this weekend.

Speaking exclusively to www.qpr.co.uk, the QPR left-back is tipping his team-mates to break their duck against the Baggies - in front of the live Sky Sports cameras - on Sunday.

"As long as we play to the standards we set against Watford last weekend and against Leicester on our last away day, we can push them all the way," he said.

"We're going there with the mind-set of winning the game and I've every confidence we can get the win we so dearly crave this weekend."

After serving a three match suspension at the start of the season, Barker now has four first team appearances to his name and he's clearly enjoying life in W12.

"There have been a lot of changes at QPR over the summer, but we're improving as the weeks go on. I'm confident it's only a matter of time before we go out and hit three or four goals in one match and hopefully that will be the case this weekend," said the 27 year-old.

"We've got three tough fixtures coming up over the next week or so, but we're unbeaten on the road and we're confident we can continue that run against West Brom and Colchester on Wednesday night."

Baggies loan star Ishmael Miller is likely to be in direct opposition to Barker on Sunday and the former Cardiff City defender is looking forward to pitting his wits against the Manchester City youngster.

"I've heard a few bits and bobs about Miller and by all accounts he's a decent player," said Barker.

"But we've done our homework on West Brom and hopefully we'll keep him and his team-mates quiet on Sunday."
