SAHAR TO RETURN?

Posted on: Mon 22 Oct 2007

Ben Sahar is in line to return to the QPR squad on Tuesday evening, after missing out against Ipswich Town at the weekend.

The Chelsea loanee only returned from Israeli international duty on Friday morning and as a result, was not considered by Caretaker Manager Mick Harford for the 1-1 draw against the Tractor Boys 24 hours or so later.

However, Sahar trained with his team-mates this morning and could be set to feature against Preston North End at Deepdale.

Fellow loanee Michael Mancienne was substituted as a precaution on Saturday, but is expected to retain his place in the R's back four against Paul Simpson's men.

The England Under-21 defender was returning from a six-week absence with a back / hamstring injury.

"Michael hasn't played a lot of football, so we were just protecting him," Harford told www.qpr.co.uk.

"He was very tired at half-time, but we left him on for another 10-15 minutes after the break and he did a good job for us."

Under the terms of his three month loan deal, Preston midfielder Jason Jarrett is ineligible, while long term injury victims Dexter Blackstock (knee), Pat Kanyuka (thigh) and Simon Walton (fractured fibula) remain sidelined.

Preston could be ready to welcome back Paul McKenna. The midfielder, who has been sidelined for eight months with an abdominal injury, came through 90 minutes for the Reserves, in a 1-1 draw with Morecambe last week.

Preston will have to do without Liam Chilvers though, after the defender limped off against Sheffield United on Saturday.
