FITZ ON THE MEND

Posted on: Sat 16 Feb 2008

Fitz Hall has resumed light training following his three week lay-off with a groin injury.

The defender limped out of the R's 3-1 defeat to Cardiff City last month and was expected to be sidelined for at least six weeks.

However, Head Physio Paul Hunter revealed the former Wigan ace is well ahead of schedule, commenting: "Fitz is doing really well and he's been able to join in with some aspects of First Team training in Portugal.

"We'll continue to monitor his rehabilitation closely over the coming days, but we're pleased with the progress he is making."

Meanwhile, Chris Barker is working his way back from a successful hernia operation and is due to resume full training tomorrow (Sunday).

Hunter added: "We've been working really hard with Chris.

"He's been doing double sessions in a bid to return ahead of schedule.

"We've been running around the streets of Portugal already this morning and we'll do the same again tomorrow."
