TALKING WOUNDED
Rowan Vine took another significant step towards making a comeback yesterday (Monday), following the removal of the two screws in his left tibia.
The 25 year-old front-man, who suffered a double fracture during a freak training ground incident in early April, also underwent an X-Ray at the Princess Grace Hospital in London and the good news just keeps on coming, as Head Physio Paul Hunter explained.
"The X-Ray revealed that the fracture is continuing to heal in a positive fashion," he told www.qpr.co.uk.
"We're very happy with the progress he is making and as I said last time, it's as good as we could have hoped for at this stage of his rehabilitation."
Vine, who returned to light training a fortnight ago, will step up the intensity of his running in the coming days, before the attention switches to increasing the speed of his movement.
Meanwhile, Hungarian midfielder Akos Buzsaky will return to hospital tomorrow (Wednesday), to have the cast removed on his left ankle.
Buzsaky, who is expected to be sidelined for a further 10 weeks, will then have his ankle put in a boot for a fortnight, which will protect the tendon while it's still healing and allow him to start working on the range and movement in his ankle.
