SHOW YOUR SKILLS

Posted on: Wed 02 Jul 2008

The 'A Star' project is something which has swept through football, and many people are aware of it - even if they don't know it. The 'A Star' goal celebration' is now commonplace in the Premiership and beyond.

Along with Everton's Andy Johnson, QPR defender Fitz Hall set up 'A Star' as a way of encouraging young people to express themselves in a positive manner.

"There's a lot of violence on the streets, and what we're trying to do with this is give young people something positive to do and look forward to," Hall told www.qpr.co.uk

And this weekend 'A Star' is moving to the next level with its very first event. And YOU are invited.

"The reason we're putting on these events is to encourage youngsters to come along, play football and enjoy themselves," Hall added.

"It also gives them the chance to meet professional footballers, and see that we're just normal guys.

"There's going to be some music acts too - and if anyone thinks they can sing or MC, the mike is there for them to have a go and show us what they can do!

"These are the first events of many, and the purpose of them is to showcase what we are all about.

"It would be great to get as many people there as possible."

The opening event takes place on Saturday 28th June at Westway Sports Centre, 1 Crowthorne Road, London, W10 6RP from 12.30pm

Alternatively, you can go along on Sunday 29th at 11 Priory Court, South Countess Road, London, E17 5NB from 12.30pm.
