Simon Walton has joined fellow Championship outfit Plymouth Argyle for a Club record undisclosed fee.

The midfielder, who joined the R's from Charlton in July 2007 for £200,000, suffered heartbreak during a pre-season friendly against Fulham, where a fractured leg ruled him out for the majority of his maiden season in W12.

The former Leeds United ace went on to make just five appearances in all competitions for the R's, before spending time on loan at Hull City.
