FLOWERS EYES HOME DRAW

Posted on: Thu 28 Aug 2008

Tim Flowers is hoping for a home draw against Premiership opposition in round three of the Carling Cup.

Speaking after Tuesday night's handsome third round victory against Carlisle United, the R's Assistant Manager told www.qpr.co.uk: "A home draw would be nice, so our fans can turn out in force again to see us play.

"But more than that, I want a big Club."

Flowers was assistant to Iain Dowie when Coventry City upset the formbook to knock Manchester United out of this competition last year - and he admits he'd love another crack at one of the big boys this season.

"Cup runs breed great confidence," he said.

"Coventry beat United last year, then played West Ham and only lost to the last kick.

"It (the Cup run) created a great buzz around the Club and generated a hell of a lot of money at the same time."

The draw for the third round takes place on Sky Sports' Soccer Saturday show on Saturday lunchtime.
