New Reserve team boss Gareth Ainsworth is encouraging Rangers fans to get down to Loftus Road this afternoon, as the R's second string kick off their campaign against Charlton Athletic (2.00pm kick-off).
Player-Coach Ainsworth will take charge of the Reserves for the first time in the Football Combination Invitation Cup - and he has a very strong squad at his disposal.
Patrick Agyemang, Hogan Ephraim and Adam Bolder are amongst a host of senior pro's that will feature at some stage, while Akos Buzsaky is likely to play 45 minutes following his return from an ankle injury.
"It's a very strong squad we've selected," said Ainsworth.
"There's eight senior professionals in the squad and each of them will get a run out.
"The gaffer wants us to take this competition very seriously this season and that's music to my ears.
"We need to get the winning mentality throughout the Club and this is the stepping stone to the First Team, so the attitude of the players has to be spot on.
"The gaffer will be taking in as many Reserve matches as possible, so each and every player can really make a difference with their performances, which hasn't necessarily been the case in the past."
