COOK READY TO BOIL
Good news R's fans - Lee Cook insists he's nearing the peak of his powers once again.
The winger - who is on loan from Fulham - was sidelined for a prolonged period last year owing to a knee injury, but having featured in nine of the R's 12 fixtures in all competitions to date this season, the 26 year-old believes he is getting back to his best.
"I did an interview after the game on Saturday and I said then that I felt I was getting back to my best and I felt I took another step up the ladder on Tuesday," he told www.qpr.co.uk.
"I'm starting to feel really sharp again and I'm confident I'll be back firing on all cylinders in the next few matches."
Cook added: "It's always hard coming back - whether it be from a short term knock or a long term injury.
"I was out for 10 months and in that time I had a lot of things going through my mind. You never quite know how you're going to react to certain things, whether it be in training or on a matchday.
"I'm feeling really sharp now though and really enjoying being back in and amongst it for the R's."
Despite failing to register a victory against either Derby County or Blackpool over the last few days, Cook is adamant Rangers are on the right road to achieve their dreams of competing in the upper echelons of the Championship.
"The second half was excellent on Tuesday," he said.
"The gaffer changed it about a bit and Blackpool didn't know how to live with us.
"They stifled us well early on in the game, but apart from that bolt from the blue when (Gary) Taylor-Fletcher smashed one in, I don't remember Radek (Cerny) having a save to make throughout the 90 minutes.
"It was one of those nearly nights - we just didn't quite get the break you sometimes need against sides like Blackpool.
"There were a few penalty shouts, a couple of dubious decisions in and around the box, and a few near-misses - it was one of those nights we'll look back on and think what might have been."
*Tomorrow on www.qpr.co.uk, Cook gives us his exclusive thoughts on the R's mouthwatering trip to St Andrews on Saturday.
