Rowan Vine's comeback from the fractured leg injury that has kept him sidelined since early April took a positive twist today (Wednesday), with the news that the strikers' latest surgery was a glowing success.
The 26 year-old front-man sustained the injury during a freak training ground incident at the end of last season, but has suffered a frustrating waiting game since then.
However, following scan results today, Vine is set to step up his rehabilitation in the next few days, as Head Physio, Paul Hunter, explained: "The second operation has gone very well," he told www.qpr.co.uk.
"The surgeon is very happy with the outcome and the fracture itself is showing great signs of recovery.
"We've had the green light to increase the intensity of Rowan's training program, which is a massive boost for everyone connected to the Club."
Hunter was reluctant to forecast a date for Vine's return, but added: "We've got another X-Ray scheduled in for six weeks time, and we are confident that will be the final time he has to visit the surgeon.
"Rowan is very relieved, as we all are, and we can really kick on from here in terms of his rehabilitation.
"He's been a model professional throughout the rehabilitation process and now there's some light at the end of the tunnel, I'm sure he'll show an even greater desire to return to the fold as soon as possible."
