TALKING WOUNDED: PAT ON THE MEND
Patrick Agyemang has successfully undergone an operation on his torn thigh muscle and is already on the road to recovery.
The 28 year-old striker sustained the injury in training last Wednesday and underwent exploratory surgery over the weekend, as Head Physio, Paul Hunter, explained.
"The news is far better than we expected," Hunter told www.qpr.co.uk.
"It was a far simpler operation than we initially expected and the early signs are very positive in terms of his rehabilitation.
"He's already began light rehab work and we will continue to monitor his progress over the coming weeks."
Elsewhere, Fitz Hall will have to wear a face mask for the next six weeks, after he was forced to undergo surgery following a clash of heads against Watford.
The former Wigan defender fractured his nasal bone against the Hornets and missed the R's subsequent FA Cup third round tie against Burnley a few days later.
However, following a brief appearance from the bench on Saturday, Hall is set to be named in the squad that travels to Turf Moor for the R's third round replay against the Clarets tomorrow (Tuesday) night.
Hunter said: "Fitz is fine to continue playing, although he will have to wear the mask in training and on matchdays for the next six weeks or so.
"The surgeons did a 3D image scan on the area where he fractured the bone and the mask will provide suitable protection in that area over that period of time."
Meanwhile, Matthew Connolly successfully returned to First Team duties against Coventry City on Saturday following a recent back complaint.
"Matt has had an issue with his lower back that required him to do a lot of stabilisation work," explained Hunter.
"Fortunately, he came through the 90 minutes on Saturday and fingers crossed all the hard work he's been doing down at Harlington will mean this injury is now a thing of the past."
