R's gaffer Paulo Sousa has praised the impact made by new signing Wayne Routledge following his arrival from Aston Villa.
The 23 year-old midfielder was the star of the show in Rangers' 2-0 victory against Derby County on Saturday, scoring one and providing another, as the R's ended their away day jinx with a straightforward win at Pride Park.
"Wayne really impressed," Sousa told www.qpr.co.uk.
"He was fantastic for us and his team-mates complimented him too, so it worked out really well.
"He is a hugely important player for us, as we bid to progress as a team."
Sousa added: "Wayne was one of my priorities during this transfer window and the Board backed me to bring him in here and I really appreciate that.
"The dynamics of the side are improving because we have greater options now. Wayne is integral to that, as are the rest of the players."
