R's defender Damion Stewart has been selected in the Jamaica squad for the forthcoming CONCACAF Gold Cup Tournament.

The 28 year-old, who won both the Player's Player and Supporters' Player of the Year awards last season, impressed during the Reggae Boyz practice matches and has now been confirmed in the official touring party for the competition in the United States of America next month.

Stewart is currently on duty with the squad at a training camp in Jamaica and will travel to Los Angeles for the start of the tournament on Wednesday 1st July.

The Jamaicans open their Group A campaign with a tie against Canada on Friday 3rd July, before further group fixtures against Costa Rica (Tuesday 7th July) and El Salvador (Friday 10th July).

The top two in each group will progress to the quarter-final stages, before the semi-finals and eventual final at the Giants Stadium in New York on Sunday 26th July.
