Matt Connolly was pleased as punch as the R's kept a long-awaited clean sheet in the 2-0 victory against Plymouth Argyle last night.
The former Arsenal ace, who again produced a fine individual display against the Pilgrims, told www.qpr.co.uk: "It's been a long time coming, but it was fully deserved because we were solid from minute one.
"It was nice to finally get that monkey off our back."
Connolly revealed new R's First Team Coach, Keith Curle, has played a huge role so far, commenting: "Keith Curle and the gaffer have told us to cut out the risks.
"When we can play, we will, but if the ball needs clearing up the pitch, we will do that too.
"Obviously Keith was a fantastic defender in his playing days, so any advice he gives us is welcome."
Connolly added: "The main focus is to win games; clean sheets will always come if you defend well and we got both against Plymouth so it's a huge step in the right direction.
"We're playing with great confidence now.
"The gaffer's man management skills are first class and I think you can see that confidence in our game at the moment.
"Now we need to push on and win as many games as possible."
Rangers travel to Bramall Lane - the home of Warnock's boyhood Club, Sheffield United - on Saturday afternoon and Connolly believes another positive result will help aid the R's bid to pull away from the lower reaches of the Championship table.
"It's a big, big game, coming off the back of two wins," he said.
"There's another three points up for grabs and the table will look a lot healthier if we can get another positive result."
