Rangers will complete the loan signing of Middlesbrough defender Andrew Davies in the next 24 hours.
The highly-rated 20-year-old centre back is travelling to London today to complete the formalities of a one-month loan deal.
Holloway had hoped to secure the youngster's services before Christmas but was told by Steve McLaren that injuries at the Riverside Stadium would keep him in the North East.
Nevertheless, the Rangers Manager kept tabs on the situation and now appears to have finally got his man.
Davies has made 14 first team appearances for the Premiership club including two Carling Cup run-outs this season.
He joined the Teesside club as a 13-year-old and, according to the official Middlesbrough website, enjoyed a "meteoric rise through the ranks" at the Riverside Stadium.
Davies is expected to train at Twyford Avenue tomorrow and will be available for Rangers' Friday night game against Stoke City.
