On police advice, Rangers trip to face Wolves at Molineux will now take place on Tuesday August 30th (kick-off 7.45pm).
The game was originally scheduled for Bank Holiday Monday, August 29th but will now take place the following day.
The West Midlands Police expressed concern about available manpower with a number of other events taking place in the area and both clubs have agreed to the switch, albeit with some reluctance.
Both sides now face the possible loss of players to international call-ups, thanks to the technicalities of FIFA regulations.
If Dan Shittu and Seyi Olofinjana are called up by Nigeria for their World Cup qualifier on Friday September 2nd, their national officials can insist on them not playing on the Tuesday night.
International players called up for games on different continents cannot play for their clubs up to five days before a game and now that it has been moved the Molineux game falls in to this period.
But were Tommy Doherty to be selected by Northern Ireland, he would NOT be prevented from playing as the 'call-up time' for the same continent is only four days.
Both Wolves and QPR have discussed the situation with the local police force but have accepted that, under the circumstances, they are left with little choice but to switch the fixture.
