SELECTION DILEMMA

Posted on: Mon 24 Oct 2005

With only two players now sidelined through injury, Ian Holloway faces some selection posers for the Norwich game.

Martin Rowlands and Steve Lomas will play no part in the game but with Mauro Milanese, Matthew Rose and Matty Hislop all fit again, settling on a starting eleven might not be a straighforward process.

First up, there are no fewer than four players vying for the left back berth and the permutations in midfield are almost endless, without any particular combination necessarily screaming out to be picked.

Richard Langley and Gareth Ainsworth will both be champing at the bit having been on the bench in midweek and Georges Santos provides options in more than one position.

Dean Sturridge and Kevin Gallen could each have a case to start up front and it woud probably not be stretching the truth to say that only five or six players can be absolutely certain of being handed a shirt for the game against Nigel Worthington's Canaries.

The competition for places is intense and should therefore bring the best out of those selected on Saturday afternoon.
