QPR will face Northampton Town at Loftus Road in the first round of the Carling Cup for the second year running.

Today's draw pitted Gary Waddock's men against their League One opponents, in a tie due to be played during week commencing 21st August 2006.

It will mean a spot of revenge could be on the cards after Rangers were drawn against the Cobblers last year, only to go down 3-0.

In fact, QPR are without a victory against Northampton since 1962 when both clubs were in the old Division Three.
