MATCHDAY PREVIEW: PILGRIMS
Plymouth Argyle, a side Warnock guided to promotion during his spell at Home Park in the mid 1990's, are the visitors, as the R's look to build on Saturday's stunning 3-1 home victory against West Bromwich Albion at Loftus Road.
That win lifted Rangers up to 16th place in the Coca Cola Championship table, some ten points clear of Paul Mariner's Pilgrims, who currently occupy 23rd place in the second tier.
Star Man
Damien JOHNSON
Argyle signed experienced midfielder Damien Johnson from Birmingham City on a two-and-a-half year deal in January 2010.
An experienced international, Johnson joined Birmingham City from Blackburn Rovers in 2002 having graduated through the Ewood Park youth system.
The creative midfielder made a total of 81 appearances for Rovers and enjoyed a short loan spell with Nottingham Forest before his move to St Andrews.
Johnson's arrival at Birmingham coincided with the Club's return to the Premier League and he was an ever-present for a number of seasons after that before being awarded the Club Captaincy in 2006.
Johnson, who notched from the spot in Saturday's 1-1 draw against Preston, has won 56 caps for Northern Ireland in an international career that has spanned over a decade.
Previous Encounter
Coca Cola Championship - Saturday 15th August 2009
Rangers suffered more late heartbreak at Home Park, as a late Rory Fallon goal cancelled out Heidar Helguson's first half header.
The Icelandic striker - at the ground where he opened his Rangers account back in December- was the first to react to Adel Taarabt's deflected strike, nipping in between the Pilgrims back four and Roman Larrieu before burying an unstoppable header into the back of the net.
But all the R's hard work was undone in the fourth of five added minutes, when Fallon was incredibly fortunate to see the ball squirm off him and in for an unlikely leveller.
It was heartbreaking for the R's, who dominated for long spells in deepest Devon.
