After a tremendous finish last season where the squad were successful in winning the League and League Cup double, the expectations of further development for the QPR Girls Under-14's were already set.
Following on from their success last season, no fewer than five players were brought in to ensure that every player would have to continue to train and perform at a very high standard. The current squad have gelled well with the new players and there is always a good dressing room atmosphere.
So far this season the girls have covered a variety of technical and tactical sessions and during these sessions the girls are set challenges to overcome obstacles by thinking for themselves.
The Under-14's are currently sitting top of Division One in the Home Counties League and are also unbeaten in 13 games.
The girls have recently reached the final of the Middlesex County Cup which is due to be played on 14th March 2010.
Manager Craig Preston told www.qpr.co.uk: "Working with this squad has always been a pleasure, they all want to learn and improve as footballers and you can see this by the attractive football that they play.
"This season we have had five players compete at Under-16 level and did not look out of place, this shows how well our syllabus and training methods are working".
Assistant Manager Daniele Denyer also commented on how pleased he is to see the team come together, and with continued hard work believes that the second half of the season can be equally as successful.
