LADIES START AT HOME

Posted on: Thu 16 Jul 2009

QPR Ladies will begin their first season back in the big time with a home fixture against Charlton Athletic on Sunday 16th August.

Martino Chevannes' side clinched promotion back to the FA Tesco Women's Premier League last season and the Ladies gaffer can't wait to get going.

"I'm delighted we've got a home fixture to kick off," Chevannes told www.qpr.co.uk.

"Charlton finished fourth last season and will provide a stern test, but we'll be ready to show them and the rest of the division what we can do too."

Charlton are managed by former Addicks hero Paul Mortimer and Chevannes can't wait to pit his wits against him and a number of other top Manager's this season.

"It's as big a test for me as it is for the squad," he said.

"We all want to make a big impression this season and whilst we acknowledge it won't be easy, we'll give it a real go and see where it takes us."

Following the opening day fixture against the Addicks, Rangers - who will once again play their home fixtures at Brook House FC this term - travel to West Ham United seven days later, before a home clash against Colchester United at the end of the month.

The R's conclude their campaign away to Charlton on Sunday 7th February.
