Ronnie Jepson was full of praise for Damion Stewart today after the Jamaican centre back helped steer QPR Reserves to a 3-1 win at Taunton on Wednesday evening.
Romone Rose netted a brace while midfielder Max Ehmer was also on target in the victory which saw Stewart complete 90 minutes of action for the first time since fracturing his skull at Crystal Palace in April.
"Damion was first class, absolutely spot on," said Jepson. "His attitude was different gear, and he did a good job on a difficult surface."
Stewart suffered a sickening injury at Selhurst Park following an accidental collision with Eagles striker Calvin Andrew, but Jepson insists that hasn't affected Stewart's no-nonsense approach.
"He didn't show any fear at all, none whatsoever," he said. "He was 100 per cent committed, both in the air and on the ground."
Rose made it three goals in two games after his strike in our 3-2 win at Saltash on Monday, and Jepson added: "It is always good when your striker scores.
"It was nice to see us convert our chances, as we've been creating a lot of opportunities without really taking them."
Young professionals such as Lee Brown and Joe Oastler will be hoping to suitably impress Jepson in the coming weeks in a bid to become part of Neil Warnock's First Team plans.
Jepson believes, as young players, they couldn't wish for a better gaffer to work under.
"Neil Warnock is always willing to give young players a chance," said Jepson. "If they have the ability and the right attitude, he isn't afraid to give them a go.
"His track record in the game shows he knows what he's talking about.
"The young lads are still learning their trade at the moment. It's down to me to make them aware of what the Manager expects of his players when they're in and around the First Team.
"They need to be completely focused on what they want to achieve. You see a lot of young players fall by the wayside, and it's down to the players themselves to be 100 per cent dedicated if they want to push on in this game."
The Reserves' next outing is at Hayes & Yeading this Saturday, kick off 3pm.
