QPR Reserves registered a fine 1-0 victory against Tottenham Hotspur at the Spurs Lodge this afternoon.

Mo Shariff grabbed the only goal of the game, on an afternoon when Marc Bircham's young side more than matched their experienced opponents.

Shariff notched midway through the first half against a Spurs side that included Heurelho Gomes, Danny Rose, Jake Livermore and Giovani Dos Santos.

A delighted Bircham told www.qpr.co.uk: "We played really well.

"The counter-attacking tactic we worked on yesterday worked a treat and that's all credit to the players.

"I'm delighted for the lads. To beat an experienced Spurs team in the manner we did is great testament to them.

"Danny Shittu was excellent. He played the full 90 minutes and led us magnificently."
