Luigi De Canio was proud of his players, despite the FA Cup exit at the hands of Chelsea.
A fortuitous first half goal, which will go down as a Lee Camp own goal, ultimately proved to be the difference between the two sides.
"To play as we did against a team of champions is very satisfying. It is never nice to lose, but I am proud of my players," De Canio told www.qpr.co.uk.
"I thought we put in a good performance and right up until the end we did everything we could to try and snatch a result.
"The goal was very unfortunate. In football, you have your lucky moments and your unlucky moments and unfortunately in that moment we were very, very unlucky.
"The fact that we matched Chelsea in many errors satisfied me, but we have to make sure we carry that level of performance on into the Championship."
De Canio continued: "We have only had a few days with the new players, but it has all been very positive.
"I am sure we will be able to meet our objective with this group of players in the Championship."
De Canio refused to rule out further additions before the end of January, commenting: "We are still looking to add to the squad.
"Hopefully we can do something soon."
And the R's First Team also gave us an exclusive injury update, after Akos Buzsaky (ankle) and Dexter Blackstock (nose) picked up knocks in the second half.
"Hopefully Dexter and Akos will be fit for our match against Sheffield United," he said.
"But fortunately now we are in a position to deal with their unavailability, should that be the case, because we have a bigger squad."
