QPR's Tiger Cubs recently travelled to the Premier League's Down's Syndrome Football Festival.
The Festival is made possible through a generous donation of £10,250 by the Premier League and Football Aid, as well as the donation of facilities at The Albion Foundation, West Bromwich Albion, which include a first-class soccer dome.
There were 14 DSActive teams at the event. DSActive is administrated in partnership between the Down's Syndrome Association (DSA) and professional and amateur Football Clubs, with the aim to get as many children and young people with Down's syndrome playing football.
DSA Patrons and professional footballers Kevin Kilbane and Lee Carsley were also in attendance, with the duo getting involved in the fun.
The Tiger Cubs entered two teams into the competition, taking a squad of 15 children.
A number of family members also travelled to the Midlands to cheer on the Cubs throughout the day.
The first Tiger Cubs team came second in their respective league after some thrilling games.
They started the day with a superb 5-1 victory over Norwich, and continued their great form when beating Ipswich 5-4 and Cardiff 6-4.
The Cubs lost to a strong Charlton team 4-2 but, overall, it had been a successful tournament and the players should be very proud.
The second Cubs team played in a separate league and put up a great fight, coming from 5-0 down to draw 5-5 with Moorside Rangers from Manchester.
Coaches Matt O'Brien, Dean Humphrey, Jordan Sullivan and Ilirjan Memaj were a credit to QPR in the Community Trust at the event.
A big thank you to all the parents and players for making the long journey and making it a great day all around for the Tiger Cubs.
