TIGER FEET III - THE WALK TO SPURS

Posted on: Sun 30 Oct 2011

QPR in the Community Trust's last two sponsored walk events have been a great success.

The Trust's first Tiger Feet walk was to Crystal Palace, and last year it was a very memorable visit to Watford.

This season, 'Tiger Feet III' will be a sponsored walk to Tottenham Hotspur for the match today (Sunday).

This annual event raises money for the QPR Tiger Cubs. Set up in 2009, the Tiger Cubs is a football team for children and young people with Down's Syndrome (DS).

The Tiger Cubs are run in partnership with the Down's Syndrome Association and provides children and young people with DS the same opportunities of being part of a team as their able bodied peers.

The money raised allows us to offer additional activities to the weekly football sessions, including golf and tennis.

The grand total raised from the walk to Watford was £9,112.06 and our aim this year is to reach the £10,000 mark.

The Tiger Cubs were nationally recognised last year, winning the 2010 Football League award for 'Best Disability Community Project.'
