STRIKER Sebastian Polter will look to build upon his promising first season in English football during the 2016/2017 season.
Born in Wilhelmshaven, the 24-year-old begun his senior career at VfL Wolfsburg were he came through their youth set-up before making his debut for their second side in 2008.
The 6’ 4” forward made 68 appearances and scored 19 goals before being promoted to the first team in 2011. Polter would go on to make 12 appearances scoring twice.
During the 2012/13 season he was loaned to FC Nürnberg where he went on to score five times in 26 outings before being sold by Wolfsburg for €750,000 to Bundesliga team FSV Mainz 05.
He made 13 appearances during his first season with the top flight side before making a further seven appearances and scoring three times during the 2013/14 campaign.
At the start of last season he joined second flight side FC Union Berlin on loan hitting an impressive 14 goals in 29 appearances helping the Iron Union to a seventh place finish.
A former German youth international, Polter has represented them at Under-18, 20 and 21 level. He signed a three-year deal at Loftus Road in June 2015 and went on to score seven goals in 20 starts becoming a fans favourites in his first season at the club.
