TJARONN Chery began his professional career with FC Twente. Coming through the youth ranks, he made his debut in the Dutch Eredivisie as a 20 year-old.
Early in his career, the left-footed Chery enjoyed loan spells with SC Cambuur and RBC Roosendaal before joining FC Emmen in 2010, due to first-team opportunities being limited with FC Twente. After 12 months with Emmen in the second tier – where he made 34 appearances, scoring ten goals – Chery was back in the top-flight, joining ADO Den Haag in 2011.
Over the next two years, Chery featured regularly, making 74 appearances and finding the back of the net on 13 occasions.
He was on the move again in 2013, joining FC Groningen initially on loan before completing a permanent transfer in 2014 for a reported €800,000. His time at the Euroborg was hugely successful. Over the past two years the 27 year-old made 80 appearances in all competitions.
His 2014/2015 season was the most prolific of his career, scoring 15 goals in 34 appearances in the Eredivisie.
Chery joined QPR in 2015 after the R’s activated a release clause in his Groningen contract. The Dutchman lit up Loftus Road on numerous occasions during the 2015/16 campaign with some outstanding performances, which saw him finish the season with ten league goals from midfield.
