Wolves 2, QPR 1

A much improved second-half display from QPR was not enough as they suffered a 2-1 defeat against leaders Wolves. Rangers had much more of the ball in the second period and when Conor Washington pulled a goal back after 51 minutes the R's nearly pulled off a comeback in the closing stages as twice they had efforts cleared off the line.

Eze cleared off the line

QPR break from a long ball from Robinson, Washington sees his shot blocked but it falls to Eze from 18-yards but his low effort is blocked on the line.

Robinson's long throw is cleared as far as Eze on the edge of the area who hooks it in on goal but Ruddy claims. 


Home side close to a third

QPR let off again as Afobe somehow misses the target from six yards. Rangers still in this.


Wolves waste a chance

The hosts waste another glorious chance. This time Doherty pokes wide six yards out.

Second change for the hosts as Morgan Gibbs-White replaces Helder Costa.

Good work from Eze sees his shot blocked but it falls to Wszolek who is denied by a Ruddy save. QPR pushing for the equaliser.

Nearly an instant equaliser for QPR as Matt Smith sees the ball drop at his feet from 12-yards but he riffles over the bar. QPR back in the match now. 



Matt Smith’s header is saved by Ruddy from a short corner but Conor Washington is on hand to hook it over his head and into the goal from six-yards.

Wolves get the match restarted for the second half here at Molineux.

Second change for QPR at the break as Matt Smith replaces Jordan Cousins.

QPR trail at the break after an excellent display from table toppers Wolves sees them 2-0 down. Goals from Alfred N'Diaye and Helder Costa handed the hosts the advantage despite a good opening 10 minutes from the R's. 



Jordan Cousins booked after clattering into Ruben Neves on the edge of the Wolves box.

There will be two minutes of time added on at the end of the first half. 


QPR substitution

James Perch goes off and is replaced by Eberechi Eze. The R's defender looked injured prior to the change. 



Joel Lynch is booked for a late tackle on Costa. 


Wolves flash across goal

The lively pair of Jota and Cavaleiro combine down the left once more before Jota flashes the ball across the face of goal. 


Wolves march forward

QPR's goal is under siege as Cvaleiro and Jota combine again but Smithies charges down their effort. 



Wolves double their lead as they hit QPR on the break. Jota finds Cavaleiro down the left and he picks out Costa unmarked at the back post who finishes from close range. 2-0. 


Penalty appeal

Jota goes down in the area under challenge from Onuoha but the referee says no penalty to Wolves.



Wolves take the lead with their first attack as Ivan Cavaleiro crosses into the QPR box and Alfred N'Diaye bundled the ball over the line, he didn't seem to know much about it but QPR are behind.

QPR's Washington with another opportunity as he closes down on goal but his shot is blocked for a R's corner.
